What happened to Moose Deer Point's 1st land code vote?
September 27, 2019
A positive vote but not enough voters turned out.
First Land Code Vote - on November 28, 2006 eligible voters to vote on the Land Code. A yes vote meant Moose Deer Point First Nation would manage its own reserve lands under the Moose Deer Point First Nation Land Code, and a no vote meant Indian Affairs (Canada) would continue to manage Moose Deer Point First Nation lands. Sadly, we needed 4 more yes votes to pass the Land Code.
